PATERNAL CENTERS OF EXCELLENCE (PCOE)
is open to all fathers, however it has been developed based on the needs of the worst cases of U.S. mortality rates- Black women. It will educate, guide, and support men who are married to or are partners with women as they navigate pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
Our efforts are centered around changing the narrative & roles of fathers in maternal health, giving men a voice to support & advocate for safe, quality care, and emotional well-being of women during & directly following pregnancy.

OUR BELIEF
“When fathers are involved during pregnancy, mothers are 1.5 times more likely to receive prenatal care in the first trimester, which has positive implications for both maternal and infant health.”

We believe that in order to eradicate maternal mortality a third pillar of the maternal health ecosystem is needed. It is a time to bring a focus to paternal education and well-being, so that they can be of service and advocate for mother and child. We believe that by arming men and partners of all mothers with the tools provided by the PCOE- a curriculum that addresses the needs of black mothers, all mothers' lives will be saved, thus aiding in the eradication of the 84% of preventable U.S. maternal mortality.
The 4Kira4Dads “Locker Rooms” will be the settings for our Paternal Centers of Excellence. Our virtual and physical locations will provide both aspiring and expecting fathers with resource & support hubs designed to provide:
1) Awareness & Training, 2) Healing Networks, & 3) Agency & Advocacy that will strengthen systems of paternal advocacy and support.
THE PROGRAM : 4KIRA4DADS GAME PLAN
This is a first of its kind, FREE tool developed specifically for fathers on the pregnancy journey! 4Kira4Dads has one end goal- to ensure fathers have a better understanding of the biological, psychological, and social changes that occur both for mom and dad during pregnancy, so that they can increase their ability to navigate the experience safely and successfully.
